Standing desk: is it worth it?
Real pros and cons after months of remote work with a standing desk.

I've been working remotely since 2019 and have tried a ton of gadgets and accessories to make daily work more comfortable and productive. Among them, a standing desk has been one of the most impactful, improving both my energy and posture, especially on busy meeting days.
The upside
- Better digestion and less post-meal slump.
- More energy during long focus blocks.
- More comfortable posture on heavy meeting days.
- Encourages alternating between sitting and standing, breaking the monotony.
The downside
- It's not cheap and requires an investment.
- Not every task feels comfortable while standing.
- You need enough space and a balanced setup.
- At first, it can be a bit tiring until you get used to it.
It's not magic, but it can make a big difference if you spend long hours sitting.
If you struggle to stand up regularly and spend long hours working from home, it can be a pretty reasonable investment. Over time, it helps improve posture, feel more alert, and break up the monotony of remote work.
